How To Start 2D Animation

Class 128. Mouse Walk

In this video we are going to animate a profile mouse walk.We can also call it a run because the mouse never walks. We are going to do this using traditional style of animation, which means we will only use drawings to animate. First we are going to draw the key poses of the mouse. After drawing the first key pose, we will draw the second pose in which the legs will be in switch positions. We will use the onion skin for this.We then go ahead to draw the extremes of the work. Here the head and the lower body of the mouse will lift up.After drawing the two extremes, we will do the in betweens of the animation to smoothen things out. Here we have our mouse walk animation. We have a slight correction for the animation. The tail of the mouse is hanging in the air. It should be in contact with the ground. We will change the tail for every drawing. To enhance the animation more, we can add a new layer and copy all the drawings and flip it to make them look like a shadow or a reflection as seen in the results.Hope you found this video useful, thanks for watching.
